TrackIT: Best Textile Production Tracking Software for 2025

Success is probably the one factor that every business vows to achieve but with a particular set of strategies, methods, and approach.

For the textile and apparel industry ‘success’ depends on all partners in the supply chain collaborating seamlessly and delivering on time.  Unlike other industries, it is multi-faceted with many different production stages. Even a small error or issue can increase the lead time, disrupt the production line and result in delayed deliveries and lost sales.

The importance of on-time delivery in the textile industry is everything. However, production management in textile is not easy as updates and order status information is disorganized and unreliable. Furthermore, communication is often scattered across different formats like emails, phone calls, and messages.

According to recent stats, the apparel industry is valued at $1.84 trillion in 2025, and its consumption will rise to 63% by 2030. The stats show a big scope for textile and apparel brands if they can manage the supply chain that is spread across multiple suppliers, stakeholders, retailers, and processes. Subsequently, each of the supply chain elements comes with a wide array of challenges and complexities.

The Common Challenges in Textile Production Management

Textile manufacturing involves converting fiber into yarn, and then the yarn into fabric. Further the fabric is dyed, printed and fabricated into clothes and other products.

A standard textile production workflow looks like

However, there are several activities within these processes and delays can be caused by a bottleneck that can come from a machine, worker, or any technical glitch. Also, it's common that while one issue is fixed, another may appear at a later stage of production.

Textile manufacturers come across a wide range of challenges that are both internal and external.

Let us review the most pressing ones

Rising Raw Material Costs

The global trade dynamics are altered with the ongoing tariffs which are causing drastic fluctuations in the prices of cotton, synthetic fibers and other materials.

Supply Chain Disruptions

The geo-political tensions, natural disasters, port congestion, and other logistical issues make the supply chains vulnerable and result in delays, increased costs, and lost sales.

Operational Issues

Use of traditional methods and machinery along with poor coordination between departments lead to inefficiencies and quality issues.

Fabric Defects

Factors like uneven dyeing, weaving flaws, and printing errors can increase rework costs, delay delivery, and develop distrust with the stakeholders.

Inefficient Planning

Inaccurate forecasting, and poorly aligned time and action calendar result in production bottlenecks, missed deadlines, and resource wastage.

Regulatory Compliance

Unlike a few decades ago, now almost every textile and apparel brand must comply with various international rules and standards. These include ESG regulations, labor laws, and quality standards. Failure to comply do result in order cancellations, penalties, and even legal action.

No proper Visibility or Tracking

Without real-time tracking, tracking production is a constant struggle. Also, it is difficult to identify bottlenecks and ensure on-time delivery performance.

The one aspect most textile and apparel brands debate on is

How to organize and simplify the production workflows?

Why Use TrackIT?
